The angelic lutenist was painted in tempera on wood around 1522 by Giovan Battista di Jacopo, called Rosso Fiorentino. It may originally have been a detail of a larger painting. See the original in the Tribune gallery of the Uffizi (or when in Firenze, the Galleria degli Affizi)in Florence, where it's been since 1605!
