Georgia O'Keeffe (1877-1986) was a prominent figure in American art beginning in the 1920’s. She was best known for her paintings involving flowers and landscapes, including her more famous Oriental Poppies and Ram’s Head and Hollyhock. O’Keeffe was considered an abstract artist as she never took a realistic, botanical approach to her paintings .
