Van Gogh

The Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), began painting in 1880 and within ten years, created over 2,000 drawings and paintings. He was classified as a post-impressionist and pioneered what was later known as Expressionism. Van Gogh worked mainly in Paris throughout his life before heading to southern France in 1888.
