PRICE: $11.99
If you're caught in the doldrums, why not write a note on a real note card from a package of Vintage Nautical Writer's Notecards from Galison Green.
Maritime images have been superimposed on a faint background of an English translation of a French novel from 1896:
Cards showing an anchor and rope on the front have a lighthouse on the back and quote Vladimir Nabokov: "The breaking of a wave cannot explain the whole sea." Those with a lighthouse on the front have a comnpass on the back and the French proverb "Follow the river and you will find the sea." Other cards show a ship in full sale and have an anchor on the back and quote Louisa May Alcott: "I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship." Cards showing a compass have the ship on the back and quote Mark Twain: "Dream, explore, discover."
Blue envelopes are decorated with helm and anchor. Take your choice of mailing a card or sealing it in a bottle for tidal delivery.
