London's Victoria and Albert Museum's extensive collection of Arts and Crafts patterns was the source for these lovely William Morris designs.
An attractive box holds 16 die cut gift cards that reproduce a detail from John Henry Dearle's Golden Lily. (The original was published as a woodblock print wallpaper sample by Morris & Co. 1880-1917.) Eight cards show the pattern with a white background and have a pale green irregular grid pattern and two little pink tulips in the corner of the inside. They coordinate with our Morning Garden products.
The other eight cards reproduce the pattern with a black background and coordinate with Galison's Evening Garden collection. The inside is a pink grid with little anemone flowers in the corner. Envelopes are a soothing mint green with a pink tulip icon in the lower left corner.
These are undoubtedly the kind of gift note cards Dr. Watson used when giving Mrs. Hudson conciliatory gifts after Holmes had once again fired his pistol into the woodwork of his study.
Practical Tip: Enclose a gift note with a bouquet of flowers, let a note accompany a bottle wine...but don't put a stamp on the envelope: these Gift Notes are too small to be mailed on their own.
