What does art mean to you?

We are surrounded by art every day without even knowing it. There is art on the streets, our clothes, our food packaging, everywhere you can imagine! For me, Art is something that helps people feel good. One can feel happiness, joy, or an abundance of other emotions through art. It can help, heal, and soothe us throughout happy and negative times in our lives.
I don’t know what it is like to live without art in my life. Art allows me to escape into my own little world and create it the way I see it or how I would like it to be. I have used art this way throughout my life, and I need it even more now in today’s climate of so much conflict and division. I hope my art can bring that same feeling of comfort to those who view it and help us make our days a little bit brighter.
What makes the holidays special for you?

The holidays are a wonderful time of the year. They can be hectic and stressful, but also are moments when goodness reigns. People are a little kinder and more thoughtful. I love the build-up to the holiday, not so much the day itself. I love the anticipation and the excitement, the decorating and the planning. New York is a very special place for the holidays—it is so festive and full of life. It really knows how to celebrate the season.
