Good Puzzle Co.

Good Puzzle Co. - Eco-Friendly Jigsaw Puzzles by Galison

Good Puzzle Co. is a dedicated sub-brand within our catalog. The puzzles share the same build quality and piece cut as our main line, but the materials and production are specifically geared toward lower environmental impact. Every Good Puzzle Co. product uses soy-based nontoxic inks, puzzle greyboard made from 90% recycled paper, and packaging made from 70% recycled paper with FSC certification. 1% of proceeds from Good Puzzle Co. sales go directly to environmental nonprofits.

The collection currently includes 500-piece and 1000-piece puzzles, with the majority at 500 pieces. All come in a square box format (8 x 8 inches) and include a color puzzle insert showing the finished image.

What Subjects Does Good Puzzle Co. Cover?

The imagery leans toward warm, illustrated scenes with a cozy, approachable style. Cats and dogs are well represented - you'll find cat portraits, dog portraits, cats among flowers, cats in bookshops, and cats in garden settings. Floral and garden subjects make up another large share, with greenhouses, outdoor gardens, flower baskets, and gardener's nook scenes.

Other themes include:

• Harvest and autumn: Countryside harvest scenes, fall neighborhoods, pumpkin settings
• Holiday: Halloween treats, Christmas scenes
• Travel and landscape: European destinations, small-town settings
• Cozy interiors: Fireplaces, bookshops, gardening sheds

The visual style across the collection is consistently illustrated rather than photographic. The artwork tends toward rich, warm color palettes and detailed compositions that reward close looking during assembly.

How Is Good Puzzle Co. Different from Other Galison Puzzles?

The puzzle experience itself - piece thickness, cut quality, snap fit, and printing clarity - is the same as our standard puzzles. The differences are in materials and mission:

• Soy-based nontoxic inks replace petroleum-based inks
• 90% recycled paper in the puzzle greyboard
• 70% recycled paper in the packaging, FSC-certified
• 1% of proceeds donated to environmental nonprofits
• Virtually no puzzle dust - a production quality that's called out specifically on Good Puzzle Co. products

The square box packaging is also distinctive. It's more compact than our standard rectangular puzzle boxes, which makes it easier to store and ship.

Piece Counts and Puzzle Sizes

The collection offers two piece counts:

• 500 pieces: Finished size is 20 x 20 inches (square). These take most adults 3-5 hours to complete.
• 1000 pieces: Finished size is 20 x 27 inches. These take roughly 8-12 hours across multiple sessions.

The 500-piece puzzles are square in finished shape, which is different from the rectangular format used in most of our other 500-piece puzzles. The square composition affects both the image design and the assembly experience - there's no obvious "landscape" or "portrait" orientation.

Who Is Good Puzzle Co. For?

The eco-friendly materials make this line a natural pick if you prefer products with lower environmental impact or if you're buying a gift for someone who prioritizes that. The illustrated style and cozy subject matter also give the collection a distinct personality that appeals to puzzlers who like warm, inviting artwork over bold graphic design or fine art reproductions.

The 500-piece square format is also a good entry point for newer adult puzzlers. It's a manageable piece count, and the square shape means the working area is compact - you don't need a large table.

Are Good Puzzle Co. Puzzles Recyclable?

The puzzle pieces and packaging are made from recycled paper-based materials and printed with soy-based inks. Paper products printed with soy-based inks are generally accepted in paper recycling streams, but you should check your local recycling guidelines to confirm.
