Fun, and for some reason harder than it looks

The succulents ARE the shaped pieces

I don't know if I would go so far as to call the description "misleading," but this was not the puzzle I expected. When it described including "20 puzzle pieces that are die-cut in the shape of cacti, succulent, and flower," I pictured pieces the size of normal puzzle pieces that just happened to be shaped like a cactus. But no—the "shaped pieces" are very large. They are cutouts of the plants themselves, and you have to build the puzzle around them. Moreover, most of the pieces in the puzzle have a traditional shape. I am fairly new to jigsaws, but my understanding is that "random cut" means that **most** of the pieces will be in non-traditional shapes, while "ribbon cut" refers to the standard grid of tabbed pieces. I have not opened the bag yet because I will probably give this away, but from what I can tell, this puzzle will come together as a grid where the only non-traditional pieces are those that immediately surround the cut-out plants. Also, I can see that many pieces are still connected, which was also the case for another puzzle I received in this order. This is disappointing; having pieces fully cut feels like an important mark of quality to me. For some of the attached pieces in the other order, the paper on the underside tore a bit when I separated them. I don't know whether that would be the case with the attached pieces in this puzzle.

It's possible this puzzle would be just as fun as any other, but I was looking for true random cut puzzles, and this is not that. I would urge Gallison to update the description and clarify what they mean by "pieces... in the shape of cacti, succulent, and flower"

Beautiful design, fun puzzle – not sure about shaped pieces

This puzzle was so fun to put together, and I love the design. The shaped pieces were unique and fun to work around. My only complaint is that the larger shaped pieces were slightly warped and didn't lay flat. That made it difficult at a times to see which pieces went where, and meant there were small gaps left around those pieces when the puzzle was complete.

Not a fan of the shaped pieces

The large shaped pieces do not lock with the adjacent pieces and end up creating other weirdly shaped smaller pieces. The final result was nice to look and the quality of the puzzle was totally fine but just a heads up for potential buyers.
