I love Michael Storring's puzzles (great quality and images), but my family was so disappointed to get to the end of the puzzle and realize a couple pieces were missing.
We haven't put the puzzle together yet--it's a Christmas gift for my husband--but we've worked on other Galison puzzles and we love the quality. (Check out the typewriter puzzle. It's excellent! As is the jazz puzzle.) I have to say a few words about the company, though, because we do have experience with it. We thought the puzzle was stolen. Tracking showed it was delivered and during the Christmas season, there are routinely thefts in our beach city. I contacted the company to make sure it was delivered and expressed sadness over the fact I thought it was stolen. Jim was going to send another or refund my account! That's so incredibly generous and great customer service, and it makes me want to buy more puzzles from Galison. The puzzle ended up being in my husband's pile of gifts for me, which he didn't find right away because the box said Hachette, not Galison. All's well that ends well but kudos to Galison for going above and beyond.
I love the colours of this puzzle! It is so much fun to do! I love that Galison always includes a paper in the box that also has the picture. It makes it so much easier to work on the puzzle with multiple people. These are my favourite puzzles.
Galison puzzles are top notch and never fail to be a joy to put together, and this was no exception. I chose this puzzle over other puzzles in the Michael Storrings Collection due to the slightly more accurate representation of the populace. It might seem like a small thing but whitewashing matters, and it’s why I will not be purchasing London.
I look forward to all Michael Storring's releases. They are so beautifully colored.
